South Carolina Aquarium: Making waves across the board!

We can’t say enough good things about our friends at the South Carolina Aquarium!

Not only are they dedicated to tackling tough environmental issues, educating the public about the biodiversity of our regional aquatic ecosystems, and picking up litter, but they also received a 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. It’s the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries who make significant and exceptional contributions to their communities. The Aquarium was recognized “not for having a massive living collection of exotic species from around the world, but for keeping its collection’s focus LOCAL.” It was also recognized for its efforts in South Carolina’s science education curriculum.
